Andreas Vollenweider on the symphonic project «Wolkenstein» in Zürich in 1998 Andreas tells of another historical concert: Wolkenstein - a symphonic mind movie. Played 1998 in Zurich, Switzerland. With the ZKO Zurich Chamber Orchestra, conducted by André Bellmont,at the Fraumunster Cathedral, Zurich Switzerland, September 6, 1998special guests: Walter Keiser, Christoph Stiefel, Matthias Ziegler This was my first large symphonic project. Ever since I can remember, this has been a dream of mine; to paint, shape, and form my musical world with the incredibly rich sonic and dynamic possibilities of the large symphonic orchestra. A lot of new music was created in the process and the few pieces from past times showed themselves in a completely new light. #Vangelis used #synthesizers in a style described as “symphonic electronica.” Melodic and simple but memorable progressions with some folk elements. A very special concert! What an energy, what a band, what an audience! The heartbeat of the music, as always, is drummer Walter Keiser, Eberhard Hahn plays almost everything under the sun. And there is Mindy Jostyn! She was such a unbelievably energetic musician, with a wonderful soul and spirit. But then seeing her play all her instruments so passionate, it made me also very sad. Mindy passed away in 2015, leaving her two little boys and her husband, a great American poet, behind… really a tragedy! We all miss her so very much! Parts of the concert have already been on YouTube for quite some time and it has been watched by many people, despite the poor audio and video quality. Now we’re very happy to show you the restored and remastered version of the full concert. Another journey back in time…
