ROKPA: Helping where help is needed 12 March 2026 A message from Andreas | ROKPA INTERNATIONAL For more than 45 years, the Swiss aid organization ROKPA International has been committed to supporting the “forgotten people of this world” – particularly in the Himalayan region and southern Africa. At the heart of its work are children and mothers, children with disabilities, and many others whose daily survival depends on our shared responsibility and empathy. Andreas Vollenweider, board member and long-time activist of ROKPA, observes that many of us feel overwhelmed by the crises around the world and understandably retreat into our own protected lives – often using music as a refuge for calm, motivation, and peace. At the same time, he reminds us that countless people cannot even imagine such moments of safety and comfort – with or without music. What concerns him most is that global willingness to donate is currently declining dramatically, even as the situation for these people becomes increasingly urgent. For this reason, he sincerely asks everyone to send “a little hope” and support ROKPA with a donation for their charity work. This piece was the encore of the concert at the Warsaw Congress Hall in June 2001. The title: 'Tales of Kira Kutan,' a symphonic novel. It was my second symphonic project, which I realized together with the fantastic orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia under the direction of André Bellmont, who — as he had already done with 'Wolkenstein' — supported me with the orchestrations. The incredible range of sound and the orchestra’s perfection made me fly, like Pegasus, in this piece. It is rare for me to play the accordion, and in truth, it was somewhat audacious to attempt it in this context. But I applied my tried-and-tested strategy: don’t think — just dive in and let the music carry you, as if in a dream." – Andreas

Chariots of Fire UK Stage Tour: Uncertain Status In recent days, it has been observed that the production company Bill Kenwright Ltd has removed the "Chariots of Fire" UK tour page from its website, and the production is no longer referenced among its current or forthcoming projects. In addition, several theatres that were previously listing performances have either suspended ticket sales or indicated that scheduled performances have been cancelled. Other venues, however, continue to list the production with tickets still available for sale. No formal public statement has yet been issued by the production company regarding the status of the tour. Given the above, the status of the 2026 UK tour presently appears uncertain.
