The New Line Up Andreas Vollenweider's instrument is able to fill even the largest halls with ease with its powerful sound; ultra-deep basses, hypnotic grooves, crystal clear, melodious, haunting. His four musical companions are dancing in these sound spaces. Walter Keiser, drummer since the first hour and heartbeat of this music. The spectrum of his playing ranges from subtle, finely woven to spiritedly furious. Even in airy, flying passages, he always keeps the connection to the ground. Isabel Gehweiler is a young cellist, whose playing is able to touch in a most intense way. She, too, goes beyond the typical tonal and dynamic framework of her instrument, leaving the question again and again: does she really play this music on a cello? Daniel Kuffer, at home in this music for almost 20 years. The multi-instrumentalist conjures with an almost inexhaustible wealth of sound colors; saxophones, clarinets, flutes, accordion, keyboards... Sorin Spasinovici, whatever he touches, it becomes music. But his heart's instrument is the viola. Karin Wenger gab in ihren Berichterstattungen immer wieder Menschen in Extremsituationen eine Stimme. Andreas Vollenweider (68) Musiker Mit seiner Musik gehört der Harfenist und Multiinstrumentalist Andreas Vollenweider zu den erfolgreichsten Schweizer Musikern. Mit der Schule konnte er nie etwas anfangen. Er blieb ihr so oft wie nur möglich fern. In einem inspirierenden Umfeld aufgewachsen, ging er autodidaktisch durchs Leben. Bei Vollenweider entsteht alles intuitiv. Die Improvisation steht Im Zentrum. Am meisten interessiert ihn die Wirkung von Klangwelten auf den Menschen. Der dreifache Vater ist seit 50 Jahren mit seiner Gattin Beata verheiratet und liebt es über alles, mit den beiden Enkelkindern zusammen zu sein. Karin Wenger (43) Auslandkorrespondentin Asien war 12 Jahre lang ihre zweite Heimat. Für Radio SRF berichtete sie unter anderem über Erdbeben, Tsunami, Krieg und Proteste. Dabei hatte Karin Wenger unzählige Begegnungen mit Menschen in absoluten Extremsituationen. Diesen Menschen gilt ihr ganzes Interesse. Durch sie und die Reisen in unterschiedlichen Kulturen wurde sie ganz wesentlich geprägt. Ihre Wohnung in Bangkok hat sie nun geräumt und ist bereit, neue Wege zu gehen. Mit ihren vielseitigen Interessen ist die leidenschaftliche Taucherin für vieles offen. Immerhin war sie zum Beispiel auch schon Snowboardlehrerin. Die Talk-Sendung «Persönlich» vom 15. Η μουσική είναι σε βυζαντινό στυλ αλλά ακούγεται σύγχρονη λόγω της χρήσης συνθεσάιζερ. #Vangelis is arguably most well known for his use of the Yamaha CS-80 synthesiser from 1977, which features on his most renowned works from the Blade Runner soundtrack and Chariots of Fire. #Vangelis was also known to incorporate vocals- #VP330 into his compositions. Usually this would be operatic or orchestral ‘scat’ singing over his usual electronic/orchestral productions.. Once samplers started becoming more readily available, #Vangelis could be seen in his studio with the E-mu #Emulator keyboard sampler. He would often use his sampler for quick and easy percussive sounds The Roland VP-330 was the most robust and best sounding vocoder on the market at the time. It provided an already great sounding synth engine which could then be modulated with a mic and vocal performance. This helped the vocals and synth voices sound more harmonious and glued them closer together in the mix. For a synth released in the ‘70s, the CS-80 boasted features well ahead of its time, including presets, with four user-programmable presets that could be recalled on the fly, and polyphonic aftertouch, which changes the characteristics of each voice depending on how hard you hold down each note, allowing for movements and modulation within simple chord structures.
