They are a square cut on the other side of the tent canvas, the coloured photo shows the cuts on the black and white you can see a cut in the middle top at the other side..

These cuts at back are not in the reports...

Unless the authorities are hiding something big time...

I wonder about several of the group's hands.

[Rustem’s] fingers are clenched into a fist.

In the area of the wrist joint of the hand there is a graze wound protruding from the soft tissue in an area 8 x 1.5 cm in size covered in dry parchment-density crust under the layer of skin.’

In other words, the knuckles on both hands were skinned and had ‘scabbed over’.

Yet another example, of Igor Dyatlov: In the area of the wrist joints and between the phalangeal joints the soft tissue is of brown purple colour of parchment density covered by dry crusts with haemorrhaging into the underlying tissues.

The same is observed with Zina’s fists. She even had an irregularly shaped 3 x 2.2-cm wound on the base of the third finger on the right hand with an angle facing the terminal phalanx with uneven borders and a scalped skin graft.

Coroner Tumanov is pretty positive it was a mark of punching someone’s teeth.

The localization and shape of these graze wounds is different from those which occur from falling, modern coroner said.

Whatever from above could make the students get out of the tent but could it fight with them?

I am not an experienced fighter... the fists below look like beating somebody up or rather beating a wall?

Bs something similar was observed with the group members.

Mount Otorten

Keith McCloskey's Visit to the Dyatlov Pass, Russia

Visit during August 2015

Mount Otorten was the destination of the Dyatlov group and lies 9 miles (15km) to the north of the Dyatlov Pass.

It was also the point at which the search party led by Boris Slobsov was landed by helicopter on 25 February 1959 to see if the group had reached that point.

When they found no traces of the group, Slobsov's search party started working their way back down the Auspia Valley to trace the route that Igor Dyatlov would have been expected to follow to reach Otorten.

I am grateful to Mikhail Petrov for the use of these photos.
