These are photo's taken from the rescue helicopter, heading for the slope.

The last photo was taken in the 2000's of a sinkhole in a mining village.

Stange to be taken a photo in 1959 by a military rescue helicopter of the same area...

Maybe a coincidence.

YEKATERINBURG, September 14. /TASS/.
The investigators into the hikers group death which occurred at the Dyatlov Pass, in the Northern Urals, overnight to 2 February 1959, have released a new book containing various versions of the tragedy.
According to the head of the Dyatlov Group Memorial Fund, Yuri Kuntsevich, the book describes all the versions of the incident so everybody can find an a key to unlocking this fifty-year-old mystery to his or her liking.
The book entitled "The Dyatlov Pass" contains more than 500 pages, and had 40 people working on the book including researches, people familiar with the investigation of the hikers’ death, and the hikers’ acquaintances.
"I hope that after reading this book people will understand that there is no mystery at all.
Every year we get closer to solving the mystery because new archive materials and testimonies turn up," Kuntsevich told a press conference at the TASS Urals regional center.

He said that the material gathered while working on the book is sufficient to resume the official investigation.

"This August a metal piece that could be a munition or an aircraft piece, was found 55 kilometers away from the place where the hikers’ corpses had been discovered.

This testifies to the fact that a military testing ground used to be there.

We are waiting for the experts to say what it was exactly", the head of the Fund added.

So far, 200 copies of the book have been published.

A map of the route that Dyatlov Group followed from January 26 to February 1, 1959, comes with the book.

The place where the group members died is indicated on the map.

The book points to a few possible causes of the tragedy such as a missile falling, man-made disaster, chemical explosion, military or nuclear test conducted in the area.

This is the first of a three-book series, the second one is due out in October.

New versions should be based on documents

Writer Oleg Arkhipov, who is carrying out a separate investigation, told TASS that it is too early to draw any conclusions on the cause of the group members’ death.

Recently in Yekaterinburg, he came across a new archive compiled by a member of the investigation team from Ivdel (Sverdlovsk region).

The archive consists of 200 documents.

"I am not disclosing the details yet.

I looked for this archive for four years, there are more than 200 official documents that were not included in the case.

This archive has yet to be assessed," Arkhipov stressed.

He explained that these documents will not shed light on the cause of the hikers’ death.

"We can’t say that these papers will help in drawing a final conclusion.

But the archival research is the only thing that makes sense.

The archive of the Sverdlovsk KGB is the most important one but they are not opened yet.

As far as I know, there are some documents concerning this case but until they are made public there is no sense in setting out versions", Arkhipov said.

Tragedy in Otorten Mountain

Nine hikers died in the Northern Urals near the Otorten Mountain (translated from the mansi language as Mountain of the Dead) during the night of 1 to 2 February 1959, under ambiguous circumstances.

The group was comprised of skiers from the tourist club of the Urals Polytechnichal Institute in Sverdlovsk.

There were five students, three engineers and a tourist camp instructor.

The group leader’s name was Igor Dyatlov.

After the group members didn’t check in and the time set up for their return had passed, a search operation was organized.

Their corpses were discovered in different places far from their tent.

According to the forensic medical report, most of the hikers froze to death.

However, there were serious injuries on some of the bodies that could have caused their deaths.

Various versions of the incident were examined, including an avalanche hitting the tent, an attack by fugitive prisoners, an attack by the indigenous Mansi inhabitants, a brawl among the group members, an explosion by a missile flying over the pass and some other theories.

By Kizilov Gennady lvanovich.

Which is translated from Russian to English.

From the diary entries, and the opinion of lvanovich.

The route and developed photographic films of tourists it is seen that on 28.01.59 the group went upstream of the river lozvy, 30.01.59.

The group continued its movement, on 31.01.59 the tourists came to the river Auspii and tried to pass by the pass to the low temperature and strong wind they had to go back down and stopped for the night 1.02.59 in the upper reaches of the river Auspia tourist built a storage, in which they left a supply of food and all unnecessary equipment.

Returning to the river valley on january 31, Auspia and knowing about the difficult terrain relief, 1079 where the ascent was supposed to be, Dyatlov as the group leader made a gross mistake, expressed in the fact that the group began the ascent of 1.02.59 at 15-00 only.

Later on the ski trail, which was preserved at the time of the searches, it was possible to establish that, moving to the valley of the fourth tributary of the lozva river.

The tourist took 500-600 m to the left and instead of the pass formed by the peaks 1079 mountain and 880 slope.

This was Dyatlov's second mistake.

Using light day time on the ascent to the top of the 1079 mountain, in conditions of strong wind that is usual in this area, and low temperature, on the order of 25-30c.

Woodpeckers found themselves at unprofitable conditions for overnighting and decided to breaks the tent on the slope of the summit 1709 mountain so that the next morning without losing altitude, go to the mountain Otorten, to which the line remained about 10km...

Igor Dyatlov.

It's said Igor was very proud command.

Everything is so outraged by his behavior that did not comply with his team.

Then he went away from everyone and went on hunger strike.

All errors are attributed to him (ordinary in the unit he was good executive).

According to students who knew him.

Some points Yuri Yudin mentions about Zolotarev secret camera...

The camera became a surprise to Yuri Yudin.

He assumed the group only had four camera's that was found in the tent then suddenly a 5th.

This is if a 5th camera was in the camera case around Zolotarev's in the ravine as he laid dead.

If so did Zolotarev bring two camera's on the trip...

The one he left in the tent everyone knew about which Zolotarev would use in the day.

But why was yuri surprised, this means the camera must have been hidden if Yuri was puzzled.

It was only noticed after he died...

Strange...

I know guys most of you don't understand Russian.

But I still want to share this recent TV show that used lie detectors for the participants together with pretty good logic in approaching the matter.

There were many speakers.

Kuntsevic said he thought that Zolotarev was involved as a KGB agent and that the group had a certain task to perform.

That is why Zolotarev was rescued by a helicopter at the very last moment and someone else's body was brought there later.

This was Kuntsevich opinion.

However none of the rescue party was summoned to KGB and signed any agreement to keep silence.

This would not be possible if any state secret were involved.

The search party members kept saying this (that they didn't sign any agreements with KGB) but many people thought they were just not quite honest about it.

This time the lie detector showed they were saying truth.

It is rather local authorities but not KGB who didn't want the general public to know who killed the group (but we don't know why).

The main contribution to the show was made by number 1 Russian coroner Eduard Tumanov who explained that it was not any chemical, explosion or other trauma related to weapon tests or rocket crash.

He explained that the skin color has nothing unusual about it in this case.

The students, according to him, "were being killed by the hands of humans".

They did fight back, there was a fight.

When asked by the show host of his opinion about what happened there Tumanov just said: "They were scared by somebody or something standing next to the entrance to the tent.

That is why they couldn't use the entrance.

Later some of them tried to hide in the woods."

There was a politician who represents the Khanty - Mansi in parlament of Russia.

He was asked a question - could it be that local hunters killed the group bs it entered their sacred place?"

His answer was: no, indigenous people are serious about entering their territory but not to this extent."

For the first time it was voiced that it indeed was a sacred territory.

As far as I understand this show came to the point that it was a murder by some criminals.

I believe it narrows down the options to gold-diggers, escaped convicts or some other individuals that found themselves at that place at that time?

The tent was also examined by a kriminalistich expert, the name used in hibinaud files.

The tent was carefully examined, the tent went under a microscope.

My opinion it doesn't seem right how the tent was cut, as they panicked knowing it was there survival.

I first believe military years ago but if military they would not let no one near the slope no matter who they was until the mess was clean and the area, but somehow the scene was left in an unusual way.

Then i thought the cold weather which has been tested by most but there was some loopholes in the theory of the cold...

This is what the expert said who examined the tent...

Sheet 304 of the case, of 3 systems of threads is warp and weft interwoven perpendicular to each other.

The damage resulting in a rupture unusually follows the line of least resistance i.e.

Tear either filament of a duck or warp threads such damage is unusually very smooth and has right angles.

The incision under any conditions always disrupted both those and other threads as at different angles randomly cut only either the threads of the weft or warp threads is almost impossible /cm. scheme number...

As a result of the foregoing and when examining the edges of all the damages on the tent, it can be concluded that three damage conditionally marked, no 1.2.3.

Sharp weapon /Knife/ i.e. are cuts yet the rest of the damage is a rupture.

Damage no1 has a shape in the form of a broken straight line is a small puncture of canvas in 2 cm, the corners of the hole are TORN /cm photo 4...l, ll end here...

This is the update of hibinaud.

Why go through all this trouble to destroy the tent then walk...

The tent was tested for chemicals which they found none.

So nothing exploded near the tent...

There was no trouble from the morning of the 1st but photos can be in error...

They found traces of pyrite on the backpacks but whos all of them, if carried pyrite where did the rocks go because of traces...

Yuri Yudin saw nuclear fallout material in the abandoned huts labeled...

The authorities knew where the Mansi live loggers lived sixs miles or more away...

The abandoned hut the driver was surprised to see the abandoned hut empty who took them by horse and sledge...

But in some photos of the abandoned huts some unusual figures was photographed...

My opininon someone could have cut the tent...
