KITARO - Kitaro - Live At Budokan Part 1 (1982 High Quality 60FPS VHD Synth Prog Rock Concert Video) Part 1 of 2

Recorded live at the gigantic Budokan concert hall in Tokyo on December 6th, 1982, this is one of the earliest live concerts of Kitaro commercially recorded and released on video. Even though this was recorded squarely in the middle of his illustrious career, Kitaro (born Masanori Takahashi) had already produced more than 15 albums, including multiple soundtracks and even NHK orchestrated specials. Kitaro began as a member of the Japanese progressive rock band, Far East Family Band, and while the band dissolved nearly 5 years earlier, the progressive rock influences can still be heard in this early live performance. Over the course of this concert, listen to Kitaro and his multi-talented band create truly epic soundscapes from the shadows that combine prog rock, new age, synth rock, and more with crying guitars, sensitive percussion, and raw synthesizers that would make a Commodore 64 blush.

Musicians:
Kitaro: Korg 800DV, Korg 700S, RolandJP-4, Roland VP-330, Prophet 5, Yamaha GS-1, Santool, Sitar
Keita Miyahara: Roland VP-300, Roland System 100M, Roland CSQ-600, Yamaha CP-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Sequential Circuits Pro One, Mini Moog
Shuichi Arisaka: Roland VP-330, Roland SH-3, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, E-mu Emulator
Hiroshi Araki: Electric Guitar, Ovation Acoustic Guitar, Harp
Yoshitaka Shimada: TAMA Drums, Tymphany, Tubular Bell, Bud Conga, Hand bell, Talking Drum
Jin Sekiguchi: Pearl Drums, Gong, Tambra, Hand bell

This concert has only officially been released on JVC's own VHS and (the Japanese-exclusive) VHD formats. This is the first time that the VHD version is being made available and, along with it, the superior image quality that the VHD release offers.

Enjoy this beautiful performance!

NOTE: Cross-hatching artifacts may be noted along high contrast edges. This is an artifact of the TBC used to stabilize the footage and is not inherent to the original recording or post-processing after capture.

NOTE 2: VHD discs have a number of quality issues, including sensitivity to scratches/long-term pressure/heat, an affinity to attract mold, etc, which can cause visual artifacts such as skipping & drop-outs along with audio artifacts. An attempt to minimize these artifacts was made during capture; however, please excuse the artifacts that still remain.
