  1. Andreas Vollenweider - Treasures of the Archives – Part 40 🎵Treasures of the Archives – Part 40: Memories of ✨“Airdance“ | Music Video, 2009✨ Video clip of the first song „Airdance“ on the album AIR. Producers and creators were Andreas' friends from Leguan Productions in Uetikon am See, Switzerland. "It was the time when my friend and drummer Walter Keiser had a motor bike accident and was not available for the production of the album AIR. It was already too late to stop the process, so I decided to use various wind and air sounds for the song 'Airdance' instead of the drums, which even made sense for an album with the name AIR…" – Andreas

  3. KITARO - Kitaro - Live At Budokan Part 1 (1982 High Quality 60FPS VHD Synth Prog Rock Concert Video) Part 1 of 2 Recorded live at the gigantic Budokan concert hall in Tokyo on December 6th, 1982, this is one of the earliest live concerts of Kitaro commercially recorded and released on video. Even though this was recorded squarely in the middle of his illustrious career, Kitaro (born Masanori Takahashi) had already produced more than 15 albums, including multiple soundtracks and even NHK orchestrated specials. Kitaro began as a member of the Japanese progressive rock band, Far East Family Band, and while the band dissolved nearly 5 years earlier, the progressive rock influences can still be heard in this early live performance. Over the course of this concert, listen to Kitaro and his multi-talented band create truly epic soundscapes from the shadows that combine prog rock, new age, synth rock, and more with crying guitars, sensitive percussion, and raw synthesizers that would make a Commodore 64 blush. Musicians: Kitaro: Korg 800DV, Korg 700S, RolandJP-4, Roland VP-330, Prophet 5, Yamaha GS-1, Santool, Sitar Keita Miyahara: Roland VP-300, Roland System 100M, Roland CSQ-600, Yamaha CP-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Sequential Circuits Pro One, Mini Moog Shuichi Arisaka: Roland VP-330, Roland SH-3, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, E-mu Emulator Hiroshi Araki: Electric Guitar, Ovation Acoustic Guitar, Harp Yoshitaka Shimada: TAMA Drums, Tymphany, Tubular Bell, Bud Conga, Hand bell, Talking Drum Jin Sekiguchi: Pearl Drums, Gong, Tambra, Hand bell This concert has only officially been released on JVC's own VHS and (the Japanese-exclusive) VHD formats. This is the first time that the VHD version is being made available and, along with it, the superior image quality that the VHD release offers. Enjoy this beautiful performance! ________________________________________________ Track List (by song): 00:00 - AQUA / 無限水 08:25 - FIRE / 炎の舞 16:00 - KALEIDOSCOPE / 万華鏡 20:41 - THEME OF SILK ROAD / シルクロードのテーマ 25:50 - COSMIC LOVE / コズミック ラヴ ________________________________________________ This was played back using a Victor HD-9500 VHD player. 4. Kitaro Dinner 2026 July 5, 2026 On 4 July 2026 (Saturday), Kitaro-san, his wife Franci and I caught up for a fun four-hour dinner, whilst on their private visit to Singapore. It’s always a delightful treat sharing a fun meal with the Kitaros. Fun Dinner At The Tanglin Club (above image). We ate and chatted till we were the last guests in the restaurant. After that, the restaurant staff asked to take photographs with Kitaro-san. It’s always fun to catch up with Mr. and Mrs. Kitaro-san whenever they are in town, Especially special when they request to have dinner with me on their private visit, instead of during a busy concert tour. It’s Tiger Beer Time! (above image). This is Kitaro-san’s third time to the Tanglin Club. Photo courtesy of Franci. No Need for Idle Chatter (above image). Just briefly letting the inviting ice-cold Ale lubricate the mellow Soul. Each holding tightly to our drinks! Haha. Photo courtesy of Franci. Kitaro-san Signing My Stack Of Kitaro CD Collection (above image). Kitaro-san graciously elaborately signed all fourteen of my CD covers, patiently collected throughout the years. Kitaro-san Signing My “Thinking Of You” CD Cover (above image). This Album (vinyl and CD) has special significance for both Kitaro-san and me. It, not only, bagged Kitaro-san a glorious Grammy Award for “Best New Age Album” (2001) but the Album Artwork features my B/W portrait of him shot during soundcheck at one of his sold-out concerts. “Thinking Of You” Vinyl Sleeve Kitaro-san Signed The Vinyl Sleeve Of My Portrait Of Him In “Thinking Of You” (above image). 9. Andreas Vollenweider - Treasures of the Archives – Part 39 🎵Treasures of the Archives – Part 39: Memories of ✨“The Play Of The Five Balls“ | Montreux Jazz Festival 2011, Switzerland✨ „‚The Play Of The Five Balls‘ from the album White Winds is another example of how we take the main elements of an existing song and then wander off to completely new territory. We call this thematic improvisation. For this approach to work, the foundations of the music have to be deliberately kept simple, not to engage the intellectual mind, but rather to release all expectation and allow the music to take shape of its own accord, as far as ever possible. By setting aside the urge to conquer the instrument and to display acrobatic virtuosity, you set aside much of your ego. This creates space for the unexpected — which, at times, can lead to a rare and precious discovery.“ – Andreas Andreas Vollenweider: harp Walter Keiser: drums Andi Pupato: percussion Steff la Cheffe: Beat Box Daniel Kuffer: winds & keys Sandro Friedrich: etnic winds Oliver Keller: guitars Greg Galli: keys and voice Daniel Pezzotti: Cello

  15. Andreas Vollenweider - Treasures of the Archives – Part 38 🎵Treasures of the Archives – Part 38: Memories of ✨COSMOPOLY SESSIONS with Abdullah Ibrahim | Basel, Switzerland, 2001✨ „We have received sad news: Abdullah Ibrahim passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 91, at Lake Chiemsee in Germany. I shared many connections with Abdullah. His playing inspired me from my early youth. When I first heard one of his concerts live, I was somehow surprised, because he played the piano very much the way I did—only worlds better of course. It was his hypnotic left-hand ostinato figures and the harmonized melodies in his right hand that felt so familiar to me. Later, during his years in exile, we supported his projects against the brutal apartheid regime. Through our own music, we had already developed a strong connection to South Africa from the early 1980s onward. Many years later, in the early 2000s, a wonderful collaboration emerged. It began with my album COSMOPOLY, which features three of our improvisations. This was followed by a tour through various cities across Europe. The time spent travelling with Abdullah remains unforgettable for me. With his passing, an important voice for a better world has fallen silent. And yet, that voice continues to resonate through his music.“ – Andreas
